It’s never too early to start decorating for the holidays! Erin Napier showed off some of the Christmas decor in her Mississippi home over the weekend, and it just might put you in the holiday spirit.
“The girls wanted to start early and I couldn’t stop them,” Erin, 39, captioned the photo on Sunday, November 10, on Instagram.
Her two daughters, Helen and Mae, whom she shares with husband Ben Napier, had a hand in hanging Christmas garland along the staircase in their home. They placed red bows on the green garland, the perfect touch to the decor.
When someone in the comments section asked Erin where she got the garland from, the mom of two replied, “It’s nice! from a place outside waynesboro that also sells huge pottery/vessels?”
In the background of the photo, pictures that were drawn and painted by the girls could be seen hanging on the walls in different-sized frames. It added such a fun element to the space against the wooden furnishings.
“The girls art in the stairwell!?? Love that,” one person commented under the post, while another said, “I love that exquisite art gallery you have on your wall.”
There are so many unique touches around the property, it’s easy to see why Erin and Ben, 41, love spending so much time in Mississippi. The Home Town hosts own two homes. Their primary home is in Laurel, Mississippi, while their country home is located in the outskirts of the state.
The decision to buy a vacation home was made after Erin realized she wanted the girls to experience farm life, just as she did when she was a little girl.
“I grew up on a 40-acre chicken farm and would pick out a baby chick to be my pet every time a new load would come,” Erin told Southern Living. “My playtime consisted of climbing a lot of trees and digging for arrowheads in the woods. That’s not something our girls can do in town. I want their bathwater to be dirty at the end of the day, so it means they weren’t just playing on screens.”
Plus, Erin was thrilled when she saw the interior of the home after falling in love with the exterior.
“One reason we had to get this house was its very British look. It feels as though you’ve crossed the ocean and you’re not in Mississippi anymore. It’s like a vacation for us,” the HGTV personality told the outlet. “All the cozy rooms with dark wood make it seem as if you’re sitting beside a fire — that is the dream for me. I love this style so, so much.”
Erin’s post about decorating for Christmas came just after Ben revealed that Helen, 6, drew a cute Christmas tree picture to hang in the home.
“My brother is making these really tiny frames with scraps of ornate moldings!” Ben captioned an Instagram post in early November. “They’re all $20 and some will fit the small instax style photos. The moment Helen saw it on the kitchen counter, she started a little drawing for it. She knew the assignment.”
