Hoda Kotb was filled with joy while making her latest announcement on Today With Hoda & Jenna! The cohost shared an update on her life in her new suburban neighborhood ahead of her official departure from the long-running talk show.

“Guys, I’m getting a minivan! A Toyota Sienna!” Hoda, 60, gleefully told viewers during an episode of Today on Thursday, November 14. “I’m so excited. I have wanted a Toyota Sienna for a long time. You push the buttons, click! And the doors go woosh.”

“And, let me explain, me and a minivan is like a dream,” she said. “I’ve wanted it and I haven’t had it. Also, I am sometimes carpool mom. I can only take three kids because there’s no other room. Not anymore! I cannot wait for it.”

Jenna Bush Hager sat beside her at the news desk, clearly very happy for her friend for fulfilling her dream.

“Here’s the thing which has happened with Hoda,” Jenna, 42, began. “You know how Hoda falls in love easily? She has moved to the burbs. I would say most people, including myself, are a little resistant. … Hoda has moved to the suburbs and she has dove right in to the burbs — PTA, Tupperware and now, a minivan.”

“The minivan is like the best of it all!” Hoda replied. “I cannot wait. I can’t wait to push the buttons and have the kids climb in, put the sports gear in the back, have all the stuff.”

“I mean, you are living the American dream. I’m very happy for you,” Jenna concluded.

A few months back, Hoda officially moved out of busy New York City and into the suburbs with her two daughters, Haley and Hope. The You Are My Happy author explained that she was getting accustomed to her new life in the quiet town ahead of her Today exit.

“I’ve found out, in my town, there’s a 5:30 Soul Cycle class which I’m going to start,” the mom of two told E! News on October 25. “Then I’m going to go back and feed my kids breakfast and I am going to make a coffee to go in my Yeti.”

“I’m going to walk my kids down the beautiful streets to their school and I’m going to kiss them goodbye,” she added.

The family happily celebrated their first Halloween in their new suburban home on October 31. Hoda shared photos of the day’s festivities on her Instagram page, dressing up in a pumpkin onesie for the occasion.

Hoda will appear in her final episode of Today on January 10. It was announced on Thursday that Craig Melvin will be replacing her as Savannah Guthrie’s coanchor in the early morning hours of Today and that Jenna will host Today With Jenna & Friends with a rotating panel of cohosts for an undisclosed amount of time.

“She couldn’t be happier about it,” an insider told Closer of Hoda’s reaction to Craig, 45, succeeding her. “She had no say in the decision, but she thinks Craig was a good choice.”
