Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has responded to a new development where his rape accuser has acknowledged “made some mistakes” in recalling her allegations.
The husband of Beyoncé issued a statement declaring “True Justice is coming” and emphasized that “the incident didn’t happen.”
“Today’s investigative report proves this ‘attorney’ Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame,” Carter said in a statement released through his company Roc Nation. “This incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press.”
He added, “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”
During a recent NBC News interview, a woman from Alabama admitted to inconsistencies in her accusations, which claim she was sexually assaulted by Jay-Z and Diddy when she was 13 years old.
“I have made some mistakes,” she disclosed to NBC News.
The accuser, who remains anonymous as Jane Doe, insists the core allegations remain truthful despite certain details not aligning. For instance, she claimed her father collected her after the alleged incident, but her father has no recollection of this.
Alex Spiro, representing Jay-Z, released a statement saying, “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press. We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint.”
